Pagemaster – Gameboy Game

Pagemaster on Game Boy is a side-scrolling action platformer based on the film of the same name. You control a boy who finds himself inside a world built from books, moving through levels that draw on different styles of storytelling as he tries to find his way home. Play consists of running, jumping and avoiding or dispatching enemies and hazards across each stage, with items to pick up along the way. As with other Game Boy platformers of its type, levels are viewed from the side, progress is largely left to right, and stages are built around timing your jumps and learning enemy patterns. Presentation uses the handheld’s monochrome graphics and chiptune audio.
