Q*bert – NES Game

This is a home conversion of the arcade game Q*bert for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You guide Q*bert by hopping diagonally across a pyramid of cubes shown in isometric view, changing the colour of each cube you land on. Clear the whole pyramid to finish the stage. Enemies move around the playfield to block and chase you, including the purple snake Coily, and contact with them costs a life, as does jumping off the edge of the pyramid. Flying discs at the sides of the structure let you ride back to the top and can be used to shake Coily off. Control is diagonal rather than straight up and down, which gives the game its distinctive awkward, deliberate movement.
