Raid 2020 – NES Game

Raid 2020 is a side-scrolling action game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, released without Nintendo’s official licensing. Its near-future story casts you as an agent fighting organised drug crime, moving through urban stages on foot while shooting the enemies who approach from ahead and behind. Progress is broken up by driving sections viewed from behind the vehicle, where you travel between locations rather than fight on foot. On-foot play is straightforward run-and-gun, with a health gauge and enemies that appear in waves as you advance to the right. Because it is an unlicensed release, the cartridge shape and label differ from standard NES games, though it plays on the console like any other cartridge. Controls use the directional pad for movement with jumping and firing on the face buttons.
