Rocky Rodent – SNES Game

A side-scrolling platformer for the Super Nintendo starring a rodent who changes abilities by changing hairstyles. Picking up items swaps your hair, and each style gives a different attack or method of getting around, so working out which one suits a stretch of level is part of the challenge. Stages scroll horizontally and vertically through varied themed environments filled with enemies, moving platforms and hazards, and boss fights cap off sections. The character controls quickly, with running, jumping and hair-based attacks forming the core moveset. Bright cartoon sprites and animation give the game a comedic tone. It is a fairly conventional 2D platformer at heart, distinguished mainly by the hairstyle power-up system and its brisk pace.
