Batman Forever – SNES Game

Batman Forever for the Super Nintendo is a side-scrolling brawler based on the film, built with digitised photographic sprites of the actors and sets. You choose Batman or Robin, and a second player can join for simultaneous co-op. Rather than a simple two-button attack scheme, the game borrows from fighting games: characters have long move lists performed with directional inputs and button combinations, including throws, aerial attacks and gadget moves selected from an inventory. Stages are large and often require finding switches, hidden routes and items to open the way forward, with enemies arriving in groups between exploration sections. Bosses include villains from the film’s plot. A training mode lets you practise the move list outside of the main levels.
