Super Mario Kart – SNES Game

Super Mario Kart is a racing game for the Super Nintendo built around Mode 7 scaled tracks. You pick from a roster of Mario series drivers, each with different weight, acceleration, and top speed, and race on courses themed after locations such as beaches, castles, and rainbow roads. Item boxes on the track hand out mushrooms for speed boosts, shells, banana peels, and other tools for attacking or defending. Grand Prix mode runs cups at selectable engine classes, Time Trial is for lap records, and Battle Mode pits two players against each other in arenas where the goal is to pop the opponent’s balloons. The screen is split horizontally at all times, showing a map or second player view below the racing view.
