Brain Lord – SNES Game

Brain Lord is an action RPG for the Super Nintendo played from an overhead perspective. You control Remeer, a young swordsman from a line of dragon hunters, exploring towns and multi-floor dungeons in search of dragons. Combat is real-time, with sword swings and secondary tools, but the emphasis falls heavily on puzzle solving: dungeons are built around switches, block pushing, timed platforms, hidden passages and careful mapping, and many rooms have to be worked out before they can be crossed. Equipment, magic items and helper fairies can be bought or found and swapped to suit a situation, and towns act as hubs where you talk to other adventurers between expeditions. The pace is slower and more methodical than most action RPGs, closer to a dungeon-crawling puzzle game with a sword attached.
