Super Turrican – SNES Game

Super Turrican is a side-scrolling run-and-gun action game for the Super Nintendo, part of the Turrican series. You control an armoured soldier moving through large, layered levels filled with enemies, turrets and destructible scenery, collecting power-ups that upgrade your primary weapon between different fire types. Two signature abilities define the play: a continuous energy beam that you can aim freely around your character to sweep away enemies, and a transformation into a rolling wheel form that lets you slip into narrow passages and drop mines. A screen-clearing attack is held in reserve for emergencies. Stages are built for exploration as much as forward progress, hiding extra items and secret routes, and end with large multi-part boss encounters. The soundtrack and heavy weapon effects are a prominent part of the presentation.
