Tekken Advance – GBA Game

Tekken Advance adapts Namco’s 3D fighter to the Game Boy Advance. The four-limb control scheme is condensed to suit the handheld’s smaller button layout, and matches play out over rounds against a single opponent. The roster is trimmed down from the console games and draws on familiar series fighters, each keeping recognisable moves, throws and combo strings. Sidestepping is available, letting you shift off the main plane to avoid attacks, and ring-outs are possible on some stages. Modes cover single-player arcade play, versus using a link cable, survival, time attack and practice, with additional characters unlockable through play. Sprites are drawn rather than polygonal, so the presentation differs from the PlayStation entries while the fundamentals of the fighting system are retained.
