The Rugrats Movie – Gameboy Color Game

This handheld game follows the animated Rugrats film, casting you as the babies from the Nickelodeon series. Play is side-scrolling and platform-based, moving through levels themed on locations from the movie while avoiding hazards, collecting items and reaching the end of each stage. The characters have their limited toddler abilities rather than combat moves, so progress relies mostly on jumping, timing and finding routes past obstacles. Cutscene screens and dialogue tie the stages to the film’s plot as the babies make their way home. The Game Boy Color version uses colour sprites and backgrounds drawn in the show’s style, with character portraits and simple animation. Controls are basic and the difficulty is pitched toward the series’ young audience.
