A Bug’s Life on Game Boy Color adapts the Pixar film into a side-scrolling platform game. You control Flik, the inventive ant, moving through insect-scaled stages built from grass, dirt, water and the wider world beyond the anthill. Play centers on running, jumping and climbing while collecting grain and other pickups scattered around each level, with hazards and hostile bugs to avoid or deal with along the way. Characters and settings are drawn from the movie, presented in the handheld’s colour sprite graphics with a top-down view of the map between areas. The scale is suited to portable play, with levels split into shorter sections and a difficulty aimed at younger players who know the film.
