Zelda II: The Adventure of Link departs from the overhead format of the first game. You navigate an overworld map from a top-down view, but combat, towns, caves and palaces play out on side-scrolling screens where Link attacks high or low with his sword and blocks with a shield. Defeating enemies earns experience points, which you spend to raise attack power, magic capacity and life. Spells learned from villagers cover healing, jumping higher, and other effects, and townspeople offer hints and training. The goal is to reach a series of palaces, place crystals in their statues, and ultimately awaken the sleeping Zelda. Lives are limited, and running out returns you to the starting point.

Zelda II The Adventure of Link: questions
What does Zelda II The Adventure of Link play on?
It plays on the NES, front-loader or top-loader. This is the North American cartridge, which needs an adapter to fit a Japanese Famicom.
What’s included?
Game Only is the game by itself. Complete (CIB) adds the original box or case and the manual. Pick the one you want above; Game Only vs. Complete explains the difference.
How many players?
1 player.
How does it save?
It saves to memory inside the cartridge, kept alive by a small battery. These batteries last for decades but are now old; when one runs out the game still plays but cannot keep a save until the battery is replaced (more on save batteries).
Is it tested?
Yes. Every game is cleaned and tested before it ships and is backed by our 1-year warranty.
