1943

1943: The Battle of Midway is a Capcom shoot ’em up for the NES centered on World War II air combat over Midway Island. The game puts a specially outfitted P-38 fighter against waves of bombers, dive bombers, zeros, and aircraft carriers across Pacific battlefields.

• Cleaned, tested, and guaranteed to play. Authentic cartridge.
• Vertical-scrolling shoot ’em up gameplay emphasizes constant movement, enemy fire patterns, and aerial target clearing.
• The combat mixes air and sea threats, with enemy aircraft formations and carrier-based targets appearing throughout the action.
• Secret weapon options expand the P-38’s offensive capabilities during missions.
• Based on Capcom’s arcade-style 194X combat formula, adapted for home play on the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The Midway setting ties the action to a specific World War II naval battle rather than a generic sci-fi shooter backdrop. As part of Capcom’s 194X series, it carries the same military aviation theme associated with the line.
