2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa – Wii Game

An officially licensed football game based on the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. You pick a national team and contest the tournament, from the group stage through the knockout rounds, and there are modes for playing through qualification campaigns with countries from around the world. The licence covers the national squads, the competition branding and the South African venues used for the finals. Play follows the standard football template of passing, dribbling, shooting and set pieces, with commentary and crowd noise built around the tournament setting. The Wii version supports the console’s control options, and matches can be played with friends locally. It focuses on international football rather than club leagues or long-term team management, so sessions tend to be built around single matches and tournament runs.
