Aidyn Chronicles – Nintendo 64 Game

Aidyn Chronicles is a role-playing game for the Nintendo 64. You control a young hero and a party of companions travelling across a large open landscape of forests, roads, ruins and settlements, talking to characters and taking on quests along the way. Exploration happens in real time in a fully 3D world, but when a fight begins the game shifts to a separate turn-based battle screen where you move each party member around the field and choose attacks, spells and items. Characters gain experience and can be developed through stats and skills, and magic is learned by studying the appropriate disciplines rather than simply levelling up. Equipment is gathered from enemies and merchants, and much of the game is spent travelling between locations to follow the main story thread.
