Air Buster – Sega Genesis Game

Air Buster is a side-scrolling shooter for the Sega Genesis, converted from the arcade original. You pilot a fighter craft through horizontally scrolling stages filled with enemy formations, ground defences and large boss encounters. Power-ups dropped by defeated enemies upgrade your main shot and add extra weapon types and support options, and losing a life scales your firepower back down. The game supports two players at the same time, with both craft on screen together working through the same stages. Levels shift between airborne and mechanical, enclosed environments, with obstacles and terrain to weave around alongside the enemy fire. It uses the short, fast structure typical of arcade shooters of its era, with continues rather than saves carrying you deeper into the game.
