Alex Kidd in Shinobi World – Sega Master System Game

Alex Kidd in Shinobi World is a Sega Master System platformer that drops Alex Kidd into a ninja setting. Instead of punching, Alex fights with a sword and can gain a chain-like extended attack through power-ups, and he can climb between walls by jumping from surface to surface. Stages run through bamboo forests, caves, water sections and fortresses, filled with ninja enemies, spike traps and moving platforms. Power-ups and hidden items are tucked into scenery, and each area ends in a boss encounter that riffs on the imagery of Sega’s Shinobi games. The tone is light and cartoonish, with parody worked into the enemies and settings, while the underlying play stays focused on straightforward run-and-jump platforming with tight, hit-based combat.
