Alone In The Dark The New Nightmare – PS1 Game

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is a survival horror game in which private investigator Edward Carnby and researcher Aline Cedrac travel to Shadow Island, each pursuing their own reason for being there. You play both characters, following separate but connected routes through the mansion, grounds and surrounding buildings. Character models move through pre-rendered backgrounds, with fixed camera angles framing each room. Darkness is the central mechanic: your flashlight reveals the environment and drives back creatures that cannot bear light, while managing its beam and your limited ammunition shapes how you handle encounters. Between fights you gather documents, keys and items, solve puzzles and piece together the island’s history. The PlayStation release is single-player, with progress kept on memory card and a mix of exploration, reading and combat.
