America’s Army

America’s Army: Rise of a Soldier is a first-person shooter for the original Xbox, adapted from the U.S. Army’s free PC game. The campaign follows one soldier’s career, beginning with training exercises such as marksmanship ranges and obstacle courses before moving into deployed infantry missions. Performance in training and in the field feeds into a progression system, so your soldier’s skills and standing improve as you complete objectives. Missions emphasise squad-based movement, cover and deliberate aiming rather than fast run-and-gun play, and taking hits has real consequences. The game presents Army procedures, weapons handling and rules of engagement as part of its framing, and it also supports online multiplayer matches over Xbox Live.
