Backyard Baseball – PS2 Game

A kid-friendly baseball game for the PlayStation 2 from the Backyard Sports series. You pick a team from a roster of neighborhood characters and professional ballplayers drawn as children, then play games on casual sandlot-style fields. Pitching, batting and fielding use simplified controls, keeping games short and easy to pick up, while special abilities and power-up style moves add exaggerated flourishes that a straight simulation would not have. The cartoon art style, upbeat music and running commentary set the tone. You can play exhibition games or take a team through a longer season structure, and a second player can join for head-to-head matches on the same console.
