Baroque – Wii Game

Baroque on Wii is a remake of Sting’s dungeon-crawling role-playing game, set in a ruined world after a catastrophe. You play as a young man sent to descend the Neuro Tower, a shifting structure whose layout is generated anew each time you enter. Combat plays out in real time from a first-person view as you fight distorted creatures, pick up items whose effects are often unidentified until used, and manage a health meter that steadily drains. Death is part of the structure: dying returns you to the surface and strips your gear, but conversations with the strange figures outside gradually reveal more of the story. Presentation is deliberately bleak and cryptic, with fragments of backstory delivered through visions and dialogue rather than direct exposition. Repeated runs are the intended way to piece together what happened.
