Batman Returns – SNES Game

Batman Returns for the Super Nintendo is a side-scrolling beat ’em up based on the film, with stages that use a wider playfield so you can move in and out of the background as well as left and right. As Batman you punch, kick, grab and throw members of the Penguin’s circus gang, and you can slam enemies into scenery such as shop windows. Gadgets include batarangs and a grapple, and special moves consume a limited supply. Stages are set in Gotham locations from the movie and end in fights with the film’s antagonists. The game also includes Batmobile driving sections viewed from behind the car, where you speed through Gotham’s streets. Health and item pickups appear throughout, with lives and continues limiting your attempts.
