Big Mountain 2000 is a winter sports game for the Nintendo 64 built around downhill runs on snow-covered mountain courses. You pick an event type and descend a course, steering between gates and obstacles while managing your speed and landings on jumps. Runs are timed, so the game rewards learning each slope’s layout and finding lines that keep your momentum through turns rather than braking heavily. Courses vary in steepness and terrain, and tricks and jumps factor into how you handle drops along the way. Control uses the N64 analog stick for carving and turning, with buttons for crouching, jumping and stunts. The presentation is straightforward third-person action behind your rider, aimed at repeated attempts to shave time off your previous descent.
