Blade II – Xbox Game

This is the Xbox version of Blade II, a third-person action game built around the Marvel vampire hunter. You control Blade through linear stages set in tunnels, warehouses and city streets, dealing with groups of vampires using a sword, hand-to-hand strikes and firearms. Attacks can be chained into combos, and downed vampires need finishing off properly to stop them getting back up. New abilities and weapons open up as you advance, rewarding players who learn the combat system rather than mashing single attacks. Between fights you look for routes forward and items, and each area builds toward a larger enemy encounter. Presentation is dark and grimy, with story cutscenes and a heavy soundtrack that follow the tone of the film license.
