Bomberman Party Edition brings the series’ classic maze battles to PlayStation. Arenas are built on a grid filled with destructible soft blocks, and you place bombs to clear paths, reveal power-ups and catch opponents in blast radiuses. Power-ups extend how far explosions reach, raise how many bombs you can lay at once and increase your walking speed, so early pickups often decide how a round plays out. The multiplayer battle mode is the focus, with several players competing in the same arena until one is left standing; larger player counts require a multitap. A single-player mode is also included, working through stages of enemies to clear. Presentation keeps the overhead view and simple controls the series is built around, with bright, cartoon-styled sprites and compact arenas.
