Burning Force – Sega Genesis Game

Burning Force is a Genesis conversion of Namco’s arcade shooter. You pilot a hovering craft through stages presented from a behind-the-vehicle perspective, moving left and right across the ground while the scenery rushes toward you. Enemies attack in formations from ahead and from the sides, and later sections lift you into open air. Your craft can fire forward and take on a boss encounter at the end of each area. The game is built around pattern recognition: learning enemy approach routes and weaving between shots as the speed increases. Presentation leans on bright, colourful stage backdrops and a distinct sense of forward momentum. Stages are short, so runs are quick and suited to repeated attempts at pushing further and improving your score.
