California Games – Sega Master System Game

This Master System release is a version of the multi-event sports collection built around California outdoor pastimes. Instead of team sports, you take on a series of separate events drawn from activities like half-pipe skateboarding, surfing, BMX and footbag, each with its own controls and scoring. Trick-based events ask you to chain moves and land cleanly for points, while others test timing and balance. You can work through the events one after another for a total score, practise a single event on its own, or alternate turns with another player to compare results. The 8-bit presentation uses bright beachside backdrops and simple, readable sprites. The appeal is in repetition: each event has a rhythm to learn before you can post consistently strong runs.
