Captain Toad

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a puzzle-platformer built around compact, self-contained stages you view as small dioramas. You control Captain Toad, and later Toadette, who carries a heavy backpack and cannot jump, so progress depends on finding safe paths, pulling turnip projectiles, and using ladders, moving platforms and switches. Rotating the camera around each stage is central to play, revealing hidden routes and items tucked behind scenery. Each level asks you to reach a star at the end while optionally collecting gems, a hidden character, and completing an extra objective. Enemies from the Mario series appear as obstacles to avoid or bait into traps rather than fight directly. On Wii U, the GamePad’s touch screen and motion functions are used for interacting with certain stage elements. Stages are short, making it easy to play in brief sessions.
