The Wii version of Cars puts you in the role of Lightning McQueen across races and challenges set in and around Radiator Springs. The town and its surrounding roads work as a hub you drive through, meeting characters from the film who set you races, time trials and mini-games such as tractor tipping. Events cover paved Piston Cup circuits, dirt tracks and desert highways. Drifting and two-wheel driving fill a boost meter, rewarding aggressive cornering. On Wii you can steer by tilting the Wii Remote, holding it like a wheel, with more traditional controller options also supported. Film characters appear as rivals and unlockable racers, and cutscenes with movie voice work link the events together. Completing events unlocks new racers, areas and cosmetic options, and split-screen racing is included.
