Castle of Illusion – Sega Genesis Game

Castle of Illusion is a side-scrolling platformer for the Sega Genesis starring Mickey Mouse. Minnie has been taken by the witch Mizrabel, and Mickey sets out through the castle and the worlds hidden inside it to gather the rainbow gems needed to reach her. Mickey’s main moves are a jump and a bounce attack that lets him drop onto enemies, along with throwable objects such as apples and marbles for handling foes at a distance. Stages run through storybook settings including woods, a toyland, and clockwork interiors, each ending in a boss encounter. Level design mixes straightforward jumping with hidden routes and items, and difficulty settings adjust how much punishment Mickey can take. Colorful cartoon sprites, layered backgrounds, and a melodic soundtrack give it presentation in keeping with the Disney license.
