Chuck Rock II: Son of Chuck is a side-scrolling platformer for the Sega Genesis with a comic Stone Age setting. You control Chuck’s son, Junior, who goes looking for his father after he is carried off. Junior fights with a club, swinging it at enemies and using it to break scenery and shift objects around the environment. Stages combine running and jumping with platform hazards, dinosaurs, cavemen and boss fights, and the pace stays fairly deliberate as you learn enemy patterns. The presentation leans on large, cartoon-style sprites and exaggerated animation, with slapstick humor throughout. It plays as a direct follow-up to the original Chuck Rock, keeping the prehistoric theme while putting a new character in the lead role.
