Comix Zone – Sega Genesis Game

Comix Zone is a side-scrolling beat ’em up for the Sega Genesis. You play as Sketch Turner, a comic artist who is pulled into the pages of his own book and has to fight his way out. Each stage is laid out as a series of comic panels, and Sketch moves between them by leaping across gutters or tearing through the paper; enemies are literally drawn onto the page in front of you by the villain’s hand. Combat relies on punches, kicks and throws, along with a small number of carried items used from an inventory, and Sketch’s pet rat Roadkill can be sent into gaps to trigger switches or fetch pickups. Some panels hide alternative routes, and hitting objects to solve small environmental problems is part of progressing.
