Crypt Killer – PS1 Game

Crypt Killer is a rail-based light gun shooter converted from the arcade. The game moves you automatically along a set path through tombs, caverns and other horror-themed locations while skeletons, giant insects, mummies and other monsters advance from the front and sides, and you shoot them before they reach you. Firing is unlimited but reloading and the use of limited heavy shots factor into how you handle crowds, and shooting certain targets in the scenery reveals hidden items and bonuses. Stages are short and end with a large boss creature. The PlayStation version supports light gun peripherals as well as standard controller aiming, and a second player can join in for simultaneous play. Digitised sprites and pre-rendered backdrops give the game its arcade look.
