Dark Cloud 2 – PS2 Game

Dark Cloud 2 is an action role-playing game for the PlayStation 2, following the dungeon-crawling and town-building structure of the first game. You control Max, a boy with a wrench and a supply of inventions, and Monica, a swordswoman from the future, switching between them in combat. Dungeon floors are generated in varied layouts and cleared in real-time battles, with Max also able to pilot the Ridepod, a customisable mech, while Monica can transform into monsters. Above ground, the Georama system has you rebuilding towns from recovered parts, laying out buildings and terrain to meet requirements. Max’s camera lets you photograph objects and creatures, and combining ideas from photographs unlocks new inventions and equipment. Weapons are built up over time through upgrades and synthesis rather than simply swapped out. The visuals use cel-shaded characters.
