Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 on GameCube expands the series’ trick-riding formula with larger environments and a deeper move set. You pick from a roster of licensed BMX riders and work through levels by completing listed objectives and hitting score goals, which opens up further areas. Tricks are performed with direction and button combinations in the air, on grinds and in manuals, and linking them together is how you build long, high-scoring combos. Alongside objective-driven progression there are timed score runs and free-ride sessions for learning course layouts, plus multiplayer modes for trading runs. A park editor lets you build your own riding areas from ramps, rails and other pieces, then session them yourself. Riders differ in stats and signature tricks.
