Demolition Man – Sega Genesis Game

A tie-in to the action film, Demolition Man for the Sega Genesis puts you in the role of John Spartan, a police officer revived from cryogenic imprisonment to track down Simon Phoenix. The game mixes side-scrolling run-and-gun action with sequences shown from other perspectives, so you alternate between platforming, melee scuffles and shooting at enemies who swarm in from both sides. You collect firearms and ammunition as you advance, and stages are built around pushing forward through enemy waves to reach the end of each area. Cutscene panels and stills tie the levels to the film’s plot. Difficulty comes largely from managing limited health and ammunition while dealing with attacks from multiple directions.
