Detective Barbie The Mystery Cruise – PS1 Game

Detective Barbie: The Mystery Cruise is a children’s mystery adventure for PlayStation. You take the role of Barbie as a detective aboard a cruise ship, exploring the vessel’s decks and rooms to investigate a case. Play centres on searching environments for clues, talking with the passengers and crew, and gathering evidence in a case file that you use to work out what happened and who is responsible. Simple puzzles and hidden-object style searching break up the investigation, and hints are provided to keep younger players moving forward. Presentation is bright and cartoon-styled, with voice work and on-screen prompts guiding each step, and there is no fail state or combat. The pace is relaxed, aimed squarely at a young audience rather than experienced adventure-game players.
