Donkey Konga is a rhythm game for the Nintendo GameCube designed to be played with the DK Bongos controller, though a standard controller can also be used. Symbols scroll across the screen and you respond by striking the left drum, the right drum, both together, or clapping, which the bongo peripheral’s microphone picks up. The track list mixes pop songs, licensed tunes and music from Nintendo games. Songs can be played at different difficulty levels, and your accuracy is scored as you go, with combos building up your total. Multiplayer modes let several players drum together or compete on the same song, and coins earned through play unlock additional songs and minigames. Presentation uses Donkey Kong Country characters and cartoon visuals.
