Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is a 3D arena fighter based on the Dragon Ball Z series. Fights take place in large destructible environments where you can fly, dash toward your opponent, and battle both on the ground and in the air, with the camera positioned behind your character rather than at a side-on view. You build and spend ki to fire energy blasts, perform beam struggles, and unleash signature attacks, while many characters can transform into more powerful forms mid-battle. The roster draws from across the anime, including characters from Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT. Modes include a story campaign that retells major arcs, versus play for two players on a split screen, and battle modes where you fight through sequences of opponents to earn items and unlock more fighters.
