Budokai Tenkaichi 3 continues the 3D arena fighting series based on the Dragon Ball franchise. You fight in large open stages with full flight, dashing, and a camera set behind your character, using ki for energy blasts, beam clashes, and character-specific special moves. Transformations and fusions let many fighters shift into stronger forms during a match. This entry adds night and day stage variations tied to certain characters and abilities, along with defensive options such as counters during high-speed exchanges. The Wii version supports motion controls in addition to standard controller setups. Modes include a story campaign covering arcs from across the series, versus battles for two players, and progression modes where you fight sequences of opponents to earn items and unlock characters. The roster pulls from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT.
