A Dragon Quest spin-off for Wii that turns the series’ combat into first-person motion-controlled swordplay. You hold the Wii Remote like a blade, slashing at enemies with directional swipes and raising a shield to block or deflect incoming attacks and projectiles. Exploration is handled on rails: you move automatically through dungeons and along paths, stopping for battles, while a home town acts as a hub for shops, upgrades and talking to residents. Party members fight alongside you and can be prompted to use spells and abilities during battle. The story follows a young swordsman on a quest tied to a masked queen and a mirrored tower, told with Dragon Quest’s slime-and-monster bestiary, Akira Toriyama-styled character designs and series music.
