An adventure game for Dreamcast set in the world of Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern novels. You explore the settlements, holds and landscapes of Pern in third person, talking to characters, taking on tasks and working within the setting’s culture of dragons bonded to human riders. Sections of play put you in the air on dragonback, flying between locations and using flame against the Thread that falls from the sky and threatens the land below. Progress mixes exploration and conversation with combat and flight sequences, following a story built on the books’ lore of Weyrs, dragon colours and the telepathic bond between rider and dragon. The presentation uses 3D environments and voiced dialogue to frame the narrative.
