Dragon Spirit – NES Game

A vertically scrolling shooter for the NES in which you control a dragon flying over landscapes, caverns and water. Attacks are split between air and ground: your fire hits airborne enemies, while bombs are dropped on targets below, so you have to judge which threat needs handling. Power-ups gathered from destroyed enemies increase your firepower and can grant extra heads, widening your shot spread, along with items that affect your size and defences. Stages end in large boss creatures with set attack patterns, and the route through the game branches at certain points depending on your progress. Enemies include insects, sea monsters and other fantasy creatures, and the game moves through varied terrain with a fantasy setting rather than a science-fiction one.
