Dragon Warrior II – NES Game

Dragon Warrior II continues the Dragon Quest series on the NES, set generations after the first game. You start as the Prince of Midenhall, a descendant of the earlier hero, and recruit two relatives along the way to form a party of three, each with different strengths in combat and magic. Battles remain turn-based and menu-driven with a first-person view of enemies, but encounters can now feature multiple monsters at once. The world is considerably larger than the first game’s, and once you gain a ship you can sail between continents and explore in a fairly open order. Spells cover healing, offense and travel, and dungeons hide keys and items needed to progress. The story builds toward a confrontation with the villain Hargon.
