Eternal Darkness – Gamecube Game

Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem is a survival horror action-adventure developed by Silicon Knights for the GameCube. The frame story follows Alexandra Roivas, who investigates her grandfather’s death in his Rhode Island mansion and finds the Tome of Eternal Darkness. Reading its chapters puts you in control of other characters across widely separated historical periods and locations, each with their own weapons, abilities and portion of the larger story. Combat uses a targeting system that lets you aim at specific limbs, and magick is cast by assembling runes into spells for attack, defence and other effects. Alongside health, each character has a sanity meter that drains when enemies notice you; as it falls, the game produces unsettling visual and audio effects that play with your expectations.
