FIFA 2000 – Gameboy Color Game

A handheld football (soccer) game for the Game Boy Color, part of EA’s annual FIFA series. Matches are played from an overhead-style view scaled down for the small screen, with simplified controls for passing, shooting and tackling. You pick from national teams and clubs and play exhibition matches, knockout tournaments and league competitions, with options to set match length and difficulty. Set pieces such as free kicks, corners and penalties are included, and you can adjust formations and line-ups before kick-off. The presentation strips the series back to its essentials, with colour kits and small sprite players rather than the detailed graphics of the console versions. Link cable support allows head-to-head matches against another Game Boy Color owner.
