FIFA Soccer ’96 – Gameboy Game

FIFA Soccer ’96 is a Game Boy football game presenting matches in monochrome on a scrolling pitch, viewed from above the action. You choose a team and play single matches or tournament competition, using the handheld’s two buttons for passing, shooting, tackling and goalkeeper control, plus set pieces such as corners, free kicks and penalties. Formations and tactics are selected from the menus before kick-off, and match options let you change settings such as half length and difficulty. An on-screen scoreboard tracks the clock and score during play, and substitutions can be made between halves. Link cable support allows two players with their own systems and cartridges to play head to head. The stripped-back presentation is aimed at quick portable matches.
