Fighters Destiny – Nintendo 64 Game

Fighters Destiny is a 3D one-on-one fighting game for the Nintendo 64. Its distinguishing feature is a points-based scoring system: instead of simply draining a life bar, you earn points for how you win an exchange, with different values awarded for knockdowns, ring-outs, throws and clean hits, and the first fighter to reach the target total takes the match. A panel of judges can also award a decision, which encourages varied offence rather than repeating one reliable attack. Fighters have distinct styles drawn from martial arts, wrestling and other disciplines, and matches take place in rings and open arenas where pushing an opponent outside the boundary is a legitimate tactic. Single-player progression and two-player versus matches are both included.
