Final Fantasy VIII – PS1 Game

Final Fantasy VIII is a turn-based role-playing game for the PlayStation. You play as Squall Leonhart, a student at the military academy Balamb Garden, whose mercenary assignments draw him and his classmates into a wider conflict involving the sorceress Edea and a war between nations. Its central system is Junction: rather than learning spells outright, characters equip summoned creatures called Guardian Forces and attach stocked magic to individual stats, so how you distribute spells determines your growth. Magic itself is drawn from enemies and draw points in fixed quantities. Combat uses the active-time battle system, with Limit Breaks that trigger when characters are in trouble. The card game Triple Triad appears throughout and connects to item creation through card modification. Pre-rendered backgrounds and extensive full-motion video carry the presentation.
