Fire Emblem Echoes

A remake of the Famicom entry Fire Emblem Gaiden, set on the continent of Valentia. The story alternates between two protagonists, Alm and Celica, childhood friends who set out on separate paths as war spreads across the land, and you switch between their armies as the chapters progress. Battles use the series’ turn-based grid combat, with permanent character death that can be undone by rewinding turns with Mila’s Turnwheel. Between fights you explore towns and dungeons directly, moving your character through 3D environments, talking to residents, finding items and triggering encounters. Units grow by visiting shrines and using items rather than the standard class-change items of other entries. The game features voiced dialogue for story scenes and animated cutscenes.
